Plum makeup has been a trend for fall 2015, and it looks like the trend is going to be transitioning into winter and 2016! This is a simple makeup look, using plum/purple colours that are neutral, which can be worn on day to day bases.
To start this makeup look out, I first started with a trusty primer, that also is a complexion corrector. Balancing out your skin tone plus priming your skin to get ready for the foundation and concealer. The primer I used is Nip+Fab ‘Sheer Makeup Fix Primer’. I than went in with a foundation that is medium to full coverage and is very blend able, which is the one and only CoverGirl ‘ Tru Blend’! I like to apply this foundation with a damp beauty blender to get a flawless look. As for concealer, its my holy grail and one of the concealers I know will last all day and doesn’t crease, if set with a setting powder. Hard Candy ‘Glam of Lauge’, is definitely one of those full coverage concealers that will cover anything, even tattoos! This concealer is also great for highlighting the face as on the cheek bones, down the bridge of the nose, chin and for head. I than set the foundation and concealer with Physicians Formula ‘Mineral Loose Powder’, this setting powder will add coverage and will insure your foundation doesn’t budge!
This look is quite neutral keeping the face quite bronzed. So to achieve that I used one of the holy grail drug store bronzers which is NYC ‘Smooth Skin Bronzing Powder in Sunny’, this bronzer is matte and very pigmented so you only need the slightest! Blush I kept it nude, with my trusty nude drugstore blush which is Maybelline ‘Fit me in Deep Nude’.
Now onto the plum part of this makeup look, which is the eyes and lips! The eyes I used the pallete from NYX ‘Butt Naked Eyes’, I used the first shadow which is a matte, creme shade that went all over the eye lid to the brow bone, this way it’s a base for the other shades. This shadow also sets the concealer that I used as a eye shadow primer. Some concealers actually work better as a eye shadow primer than actual eye shadow primes, as the concealer, conceals the redness and veins, that some may have on their eye lids. I than used a satin plum shade on the eye lid, and blended that out with using a purple shade in the crease. Than blend, blend, blend! By doing this everything will be blended out and there will be no harsh lines! I than took some of the plum shade, which I used for the eye lid, to put on the lower lash line and of course blended that out as well! For eye liner I used the Benefit ‘They’re Real Push Up Liner’, to achieve a easy wing, since the applicator is angled to achieve a straight wing line. It couldn’t be made any easier with this eye liner from Benefit! As for mascara I used the Maybelline ‘TruBo Volume Express’ the name of the mascara says it all, its all about giving the volume.
For the eye brows I used a trusty brow product which is the Maybelline ‘Brow Drama’, giving your brows some colour as well as setting them in place. The plum lips are one of my favourite and the lip product I used is the L’Oreal lip stain in ‘181 Stubborn Plum’, which steals this look!
This look is very simple and can be pulled off by many different skin tones and is definitely a fun look to change up! Hope you lovelies enjoyed!!!
