With it being holiday season, what screams a New Years makeup look more than a black smoky eye!
This look is very bold and a perfect makeup look to finish 2015 with! This look is all about the eyes and a bold berry lip.
I first started this look off, by using a hydrating primer that won’t only hydrate the skin, but give your skin a smooth finish, which who doesn’t want to have velvet like skin?! I than used, one of my ever so favourite foundations, which is the CoverGirl ‘3in1’, this foundation is medium to full coverage and is very blend able. It lasts all day and is also long lasting with oily skin as well. I of course couldn’t complete the skin without using my holy grail concealer, which is the one and only Hard Candy ‘Glam of Lauge’, this concealer is full coverage, great for under the eyes and on any imperfections. This concealer is also great at highlighting the face, as on the bridge of the nose, forehead and chin. The best and most effective way to apply this concealer is to use a damp beauty blender, as it helps blend out the concealer to create a flawless look. To set the foundation and concealer I used Physician Formula ‘Mineral Wear’, which I just applied lightly with a large powder brush.
Onto contour and blush, I contoured my face, cheekbones, temples and jaw with one of my favourite contours which is the SHEIDUO ‘2 Medium’, this contour/bronzer is very pigmented and is great for fair skin tones. It is a warm bronzer, but it doesn’t give a orange looking appearance. As for blush, I used two colours to get the my desired blush shade. The first blush I used this by Rimmel London in ‘030 Berry’, which is a matte Berry Color. Since I wanted more of a nude/berry tone on my cheeks, I also used Maybelline ‘Fit Me Blush in Deep Nude’, this blush is also what it’s called a deep nude. This blush combination creates a ever so perfect nude berry tone.
Now onto the star of this make up look, which is the eyes! The eyes are actually quite simple, as I only used a few products to create this black smoky eye look. I first applied the Smashbox ‘Waterproof Shadow Liner’, which I applied all over the eye lid and into the crease. The most important part of this look, is too blend, blend, blend. When I got the SmashBox Shadow Liner, to my liking all blended out, I then applied a black eyeshadow, to again help with the blending out however, adding a shadow over liner will insure the liner lasts all day! I then used Benefit ‘They’re Real Push Up Liner’, to line my top lash line and my tight line, lining your tight line gives the appearance of fuller lashes! Everyone wants to have full voluminous lashes, am I right?! Since I didn’t want the eyes to be all black and smoky, I added a white shimmer to the inner corners and the centre of the eye lid. This way it opens up the eyes and doesn’t make them look small and all dark! I used L’Oreal ‘Infalliable 001 Time Resist White’, which is a pressed lose eyeshadow pigment, great for the inner corner and to highlight the brow bone. To get full voluminous lashes I used CoverGirl ‘BombShell’, this mascara will help achieve full lashes as it has two sides one for length and the other for all the volume! As for the eyebrows, I filled them in with a taupe eyeshadow, to give the more shape. To finish the eyebrows off with my holy Grail, brow product which is the one and only Maybelline ‘Brow Drama’.
The final part of this look is the lips, I use Maybelline ‘Super Stay 24 hour Lipstick in 070 Enduring Ruby’.
