NYX Brow Tint -Review

My brows tend to have a mind of their own, so I always need something to keep them in line.

If you don’t already know that Shoppers Drug Mart is now carrying NYX products!! The selection will vary from one location to the next, but they should be stocked with most (if not all) of the NYX brow products. The one I’ll be talking about today is the NYX Tinted Brow Mascara in the shade ‘Chocolate’.

When I saw the NYX Tinted Brow Mascara in the display unit at Shoppers, I instantly gravitated towards it assuming it to be a similar product to the Gimme Brow. I swatched a few colours and ended up going with the shade ‘Chocolate’; a neutral brown perfect for lightening up the front area of my brows, taming unruly hairs, and filling any sparseness in between.

‘Chocolate’ was the perfect match for the shade/tone of my brows as my brows are darker than my natural hair colour and I tend to like to have a darker brow! This is fine because your eyebrows don’t have to (and aren’t necessarily supposed to) match the hair on your head.

Super-dark brows, depending on how they’re filled in can often age you or come off too harsh, but thats what I like.. so it’s o.k. to go a shade or two lighter if thats what you like best! In addition, this brow mascara is incredibly pigmented so it makes it easier to go overboard.

The NYX Tinted Brow Mascara is quite thin and wet on application but definitely dries down within 30 seconds to 1 minute. Unlike the Gimme Brow, which is a fibre gel, the formula of the NYX is a ‘mascara’ gel which isn’t as thick as a ‘fibre’ gel. The Gimme Brow adds more volume (almost fake hairs) to the eyebrow while the NYX is intended to define and shape.

Over all, I’m really loving this product and find that the wand really helps apply the product well and makes sure to tame down all the hairs. Plus the colour is a perfect match for my brows!

  1. I use this just about every day and I really like it. I also have the same shade which works well for me, but I wish they had a shade in between this one and the next lighter shade.
