NYX Suede Liquid Lips

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick has a total of 12 shades. They have fun bright spring colours all the way to deep and dark shades for fall. These are permanent to the NYX collection, so don’t worry if you haven’t been able to get your hands on them. NYX will be restocking them soon! I’ve only been able to get my hands so two, however I am obsessed!!

I was excited and a little scared of the new NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks because I’m not really a super fan of matte lipsticks, which tend to be a little to drying. These do have moisturizing blend of olive and avocado oil as well as glycerin which made me a little less scared.

Each NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick comes housed in a chunky little barrel tube with an attached sponge applicator that houses 0.13 oz of product. The formula is very thin and very lightweight which makes it incredibly comfortable to wear! Many liquid lipsticks are pretty thick but this does run thinner and for me that translates as comfortable and weightless on my lips.

The formula of the Liquid Suedes is thin but not watery. They wear very light on the lips but can take some time to dry on the lips, especially if you’ve laid it on more thick or have used more than one coat (2-6 minutes). They do not dry down and set super matte, instead I would call them a semi-matte or satin finish but I was expecting that when reading “cream lipstick”. I found them to be slightly drying on my lips but not uncomfortable. They last 4-5 hours on me before fading off. The Liquid Suedes are not waterproof which is disappointing, but not unexpected because they are not transfer proof either. The transfer isn’t enough to mess with the colour on your lips, so it wasn’t too much of a big deal to me.

The two shades are in ’06 Sway’ and ’09 Tea and Cookies’

Compared to the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream formula, the Liquid Suede’s are slightly longer lasting and stick to the lips a little better. There is less slip with them than with the SMLC but there is more drying with the Liquid Suedes. Even with the disappointment of it not being waterproof, I love the shades with the Liquid Suede lipsticks, especially, ‘Tea and Cookies ‘ and ‘Sway’. They are so comfortable to wear and will be great for those who prefer mattes that don’t set and dry out the lips completely. They have no bleeding or cracking issues which is a plus and the fact that they are only $8+ (depending where you live and where you purchase them from) is enough for me to love them!! I can’t wait to get my hands on other shades!

    1. Yes it definitely is a gorgeous purple!! Yes I made it my self, I just used pic monkey it’s a free website where you can edit pictures and create designs! I totally agree, it does make a cute touch!! Thank you lovely xx

    1. Yes the Tea and Cookies shade is definitely a must have, as its a gorgeous neutral shade, that anyone can feel confident in! I use to be the same way about wearing bold shades, I think I just have found a love for bold purple shades and decided to just try and rock it haha! But it is definitely a gorgeous shade as well, and is perfect for summer! I actually have a Summer Makeup Look including the purple ‘Sway’! Thank you lovely!! ❤ xx
