Well its Winter and has been for a few months now, which honestly feels like forever, it could simply be because i’m in no way a winter person, even though my birthday is in January and I live in the forever cold Canada. But, besides that and being forever jealous of all you that live in warm climates and especially you Cali’s, some day I may just be apart of the cali girls hehe!! Again, lets get onto the point of this post… since living in Canada we tend to have very cold winters and that alone, does horrible things to your skin and let me tell you my skin is forever, dry, its totally annoying but i have found some products and WINTER MUST HAVES, that have made this winter a little more bearable.
I also uploaded my WINTER MUST HAVES on my YouTube channel so here is the video…
Winter Must Haves! Skin Care/Beauty and Fashion || TaylorTalksxo
I go more in-depth about the products and also mention some of my fashion musts for winter, so definitely check out the video and be sure to SUBSCRIBE, if you aren’t already as I’m almost at 1000 subscribers and I have a Giveaway, that will be happening soon…so stay tuned!!
Like I have already mentioned, with the cold winter air, my skin gets so dry like many others, so two moisturizers I have been loving and living in, are two of my all time favourites and holy grails as I’ve been using these for 3 years now, of course not the same bottle. Anyways, the first one is Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion, that is a non-greasy lotion formulated to moisturize and protect skin and is ideal for everyday total body moisturization. Lighter in texture than the Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion, it contains emollients and humectants proven to bind water to the skin and prevent moisture loss.
Suitable for: All skin types, infants, oily skin, acne and rosacea.
Now this Soap and Glory Righteous Butter is my all time favourite lotion and the smell is just absolutely amazing! It smells so fresh and girly, which is right up my ally!!If you like that scent (described as fresh bergamot, mandarin, rose, jasmine, peach, strawberry, oakmoss, and amber with woody and warm vanilla notes), then you’ll love this body butter. This body butter is white and resembles whip cream! It’s very creamy and moisturizing! I would say it has a medium weight to it. It’s not too heavy or light, so it’s perfect year round. It absorbs into the skin. It’s not oily or greasy. So to say the least, this is my go to lotion especially for winter, when my skin is very dry!
Let’s start off with talking about the L’OREAL Revilift Moisturizer, that I’m obsessed with! So many of us are unaware of the truth about aging which starts at the delicate age of 24. The skin starts to age naturally in your mid-20s: As we get older production of collagen, which is the protein which acts as scaffolding to the skin slows down. The substance that enables skin to snap back into place, elastin, is also effected and has less spring and can even break. Dead skin cells don’t shed as quickly and turnover of new skin cells may decrease slightly.
The cream is thick in white colour. It has a noticeable fragrance, that of a soothing lotion, sweet and distinct. Personally not a problem, and it is not bothersome either. After cleansing my face properly I apply it before finally residing to bed. In the morning I wake up to a soft, supple, well taken care-of skin. Since my skin is so dry in the winter, I love to use this creme in the morning as well and it sits well under my makeup which is definitely a must! Over all I absolutely love this moisturizer and it has definitely improved my dry skin this winter.
Now onto under eyes…
Confession: I am terrible about washing my face at night. I heard once (at a well-known cosmetic company party) that for every night you sleep in your makeup, your skin ages 18 days. the chemicals from makeup + dirt from the day takes a toll on your skin. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but yikes!
I have really sensitive skin. Recently I noticed that I’ve started getting dark circles under my eyes. I wanted to try out under eye creams but so many have a huge price tag, and to be honest, do they actually help?! So when I seen this one and had already used “Say Yes to” products, I wanted to give it a go.
I fell in love with, Yes to Blueberries. Yes to Blueberries is made by Yes to, a skin care company that uses organic fruits and vegetables and is completely free of parabens, petroleum, SLS, and phthalates (extremely harmful chemicals found in most beauty products.) So I can say I absolutely have been loving this eye cream and have noticed how hydrated my under eyes have become, which is what I wanted as well!! So win, win right!!
Now onto the much loved and talked about L’OREAL Face Masks, I literally don’t have enough good things to say about it! I absolutely all three of the L’OREAL face masks and actually have a blog planned out about all three of them, so keep a look out! Also watch my Winter Must Haves, to hear more about it!
Now onto hair masks, and if you know me, you know I’m obsessed with hair masks and hair oils! So there’s no surprise here that I have a few hair masks and oils, that I also mention in my video!
Anyways, the first hair mask here is by Garnier and its the Whole Blends Nourishing Wash Out Hair Mask. This mask has literally improved my dry hair, as its not only my skin that is dry, it’s also my hair.. the cold Canadian winters literally can create so much damage on your skin and hair and I’m so jealous of those who aren’t affected by the cold weather.
If you have been following my blog for a bit now, you probably seen a few posts about some Kenra Professional hair line. This hair mask is Kenra Professional Revive Treatment line, I definitely love using hair masks as it just helps to deep condition your hair especially the split ends. I’ve been using this hair mask twice a week and I am hooked, not only does it leave your hair feeling smooth, shiny and repaired! It has truly helped with my split ends and dryness! Even though this Canadian winter was honestly not that bad, I definitely noticed that my hair and skin got drier than normal. I tend to use this hair mask, right when I get into the shower so it can sit on my hair for as long as possible. As this hair mask helps moisturize and restore damage and radiance!
So onto so makeup, I’ve been loving this winter! Of course I couldn’t talk about my beloved NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray, I absolutely love this makeup setting spray, especially this winter, with my skin being so dry so adding this spray after I complete my makeup, adds a dewy touch, which who doesn’t love to have a glow!
I also have blog posts that will eventually come out about the Naked 2 Basics, and the Revlon HD Matte Liquid lip. Anyways, for winter I absolutely love cool tone eyeshadows, which is sometimes hard to put away the much loved warm tones especially the orange tones. Are you lovelies obsessed with warm eyeshadows as well?! I can’t be the only one hehe!! Now some of you might know, I’m not a fan of RED lipsticks on myself, so berry all the way and I have been absolutely loving this shade on me with my pale skin. I don’t know the name of this shade as its not of the packaging, which is so frustrating, but its just a berry shade from the Revlon HD Mattes, I must say though, I’m not a huge fan of the formula, but love the shade.
Anyways, those are a few of my Winter Must Haves, definitely be sure to watch my Video all about the things I’ve been loving this winter, as I mention, so many more in my video. Also SUBSCRIBE, so you don’t miss my upcoming videos and for you to also be apart of the fam!! It would mean so much to me!! Thanks for all the support as always lovelies!! Much love as always ❤
Great post! As I’m not a winter person myself.., however, I do love a hot hot bath!! Meanwhile; we are having a very humid; Asia-like summer here in Sydney right now!
