Summer Must Haves

Remember,when you were ticking off the days on the calendar until summer? Well, now that the season’s actually here — along with the heat and humidity .

I love revamping my makeup and skincare routine for summer. Being able to wear a little less coverage and go with that sun kissed natural look is such a great feeling! don’t know about you, but now that warmer temps are finally here we are eager to make our summer plans — and that includes planning our summer beauty regimen!

To apply all creme and liquid products my go to is the Beauty Blender! I I thought it should be included in this post because it helps to make your makeup less thick and cakey. There are a lot of cheaper alternatives, but you can buy the original at Sephora. Plus summer is all about keeping is light and fresh! 

One of the best parts about summer is all of the gorgeous sun dresses, shorts, and sandals. Showing more skin means adding a great moisturizer to your beauty regimen. You want your summer skin to stay soft and luminous. Soap and Glory is an intensive, non-greasy lotion that repairs dry skin two times better than the leading intensive lotion. This lotion is a necessity for any summer tote.

It isn’t summer unless you have a great bronzer. NYX Contour Palette is perfect for all skin shades. So even if you don’t have a tropical beach vacation planned for the summer, you can still look like you just came back from the beach.Summer is always synonymous with tan, glowy skin, and there’s no better way to enhance your already-tanned skin than with bronzer! For just the right amount of glow without overdoing it!

Sometimes you gotta fake it ’til you make it! Jergens’ Natural Glow Instant Sun Sunless Tanning Mousse will give you a flawless, natural-looking tan without a visit to the pool. This mousse goes on evenly and flawlessly and it dries in 60 seconds. Also, don’t worry about your skin turning orange. This product uses an Advanced Color Complex that works with your unique skin tone to mimic the same color results you’d get from the natural sun.

Another must have is definitely some Bright Lipstick! Taking your summer look from bland to BAM! is as easy as putting on a killer bright lipstick! The perfect statement lip can quickly take your look from day to night or even glam up your usual topknot!

In the summer, I love these ‘crease-less’ hair ties. I always have one on my wrist or in my purse for those too-hot subway commutes or windy rooftop happy hours.They keep my hair from sticking to my neck, without that dreaded crease afterward. So when I finally cool down, I can give my hair a shake and go right back to my signature beachy waves!

As for hair styles its also all about the Braids!For an effortless, fun and flirty look this summer, try braids! Little, big, fishtail, French – we love it all! So go classic or get creative for the perfect summer hairdo that looks great and will last all day.

Avene Spring Water Spray: I know it seems silly to buy water for your skin when you can just get it from your sink, but trust me, it’s a summer life saver. This spray is a cool mist that hydrates and soothes your skin, and it comes in handy in hot, dry climates. You will thank me! You can find this product at Sephora. It also works as a great makeup setting spray, however you can never go wrong with a proper makeup setting spray, my current favourite is the NYX Dewy Setting Spray! 

Sunscreen/Moisturizer Combo – the days of slathering your body in baby oil to get a deeper sun tan (or burn) are over. It’s vitally important that you protect your skin, especially the more sensitive skin on your face. Simplify by picking a moisturizer that has sunscreen in it, this way you will get your sunscreen every morning when you apply your moisturizer.

Facial Cleansing Wipes – Keep a package of these on hand to give your face a quick refreshing after a morning at the beach or afternoon by the pool. These wipes are also great for removing makeup. Most drugstores and big box stores have their own brand which can save you some money.

Summer is about beating the heat and looking great while doing it, so don’t be afraid to try one of our favourite summer must-haves or even mix and match different trends to create an amazing new look! With these essentials you’re all set to conquer the rest of the summer – and look fabulous at the same time!
