With spring right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to get your skin back to looking its best! I was sent this gorgeous package by Aveeno to try out these products and share my thoughts. So lets get talking skincare and see how these products work! Which let me say, over the last few months I’ve had a strict skin care routine, as my skin has been so dry. People who live in cold climates can relate how dry your skin gets in the winter. So I was so intrigued when Aveeno reached out and wanted me to test these products out, as one of my goals is to get my skin as healthy as possible for spring but most importantly summer!
Aveeno Positively Radiant Exfoliating Body Wash
Body wash is always something that all us use and go through so quickly, so I usually switch between body washes quite a lot and have found many that I don’t seem to like.
Which is why I was very surprised how much I enjoyed this body wash! It’s thicker than most body washes, but lathers up so nicely and actually exfoliates! Like what it says! I applied this onto a loofah and washed my whole body, and I actually felt the exfoliants all over my skin.
I’ve been using it daily and it is fabulous! It’s SOAP FREE, DYE FREE, HYPOALLERGENIC, contains NOURISHING COLLOIDAL OATMEAL, is creamy and moisturizing. It’s a treat for my sensitive skin. The scent is fresh and clean. It’s not oily, greasy, nor does it leave a residue. It creates a really nice lather, cleans gently and rinses away beautifully. After my shower, I towel dry and then apply Aveeno’s Daily Moisturizing Lotion. I like that neither compete with any fragrance I apply. This body wash can also be used as a shaving cream. Aveeno Positively Radiant Body Lotion
The moisturizer itself comes in a really nice big bottle, 300ml. This body lotion, has Soy Complex and natural light reflecting minerals to help instantly transform dry skin. Its hypoallergenic and no-greasy, apparently leaving your skin feeling moisturized for a full 24 hours.
I don’t like to be careful when it comes to moisturising, I like to just coat my body in it so it’s important that I have a nice big bottle with a good pumping action. The packaging is plain and pretty. Packaging is very important to me as I am someone who likes and gravitates towards fresh and creative designs on packaging!
The lotion itself smells really nice even though it’s fragrance free, I think it smells fresh and clean with a little hint of Summer maybe?! It isn’t greasy at all (I hate greasy moisturisers) and it’s clinically proven to significantly improve the condition of dry skin from day one which I like. I’m not a fan of moisturisers which make you feel sticky and moisturised but actually they’re not good for your skin. This one is designed to keep your skin moisturised and nourished for 24 hours and I can vouch for that.
One of my goals for 2018, is to live a healthier lifestyle, so I made a promise to myself and decided that I would ALWAYS moisturize after showering and start drinking more water, as a way to make my skin better. I’m usually really good at moisturizing particularly during Winter and Summer months.
Aveeno Positively Radiant Targeted Dark Spot Corrector Body Cream
I’ve been a long time fan of Aveeno’s skincare and body care range, plus their products are accessible to find at any drugstore. I also have extremely sensitive skin, so since most of their products are oatmeal based, they don’t cause any reactions.
The Aveeno Positively Radiant Targeted Dark Spot Corrector Body Cream. This product is used improve the look of dark spots and reveal smoother, more visibly radiant skin. It also contains SPF 15 protection, which is also helpful when applying it before going out for the day. It applied like butter and soaked into my skin in no time. It says it’s oil-free, hypoallergenic, and non-comedogenic.
First off – there is some confusion about SPF numbers, so let’s clear that up right now. Higher is not always better. For general, everyday use, SPF 15 or 25 can be enough. Some products go up to 70 (even some Aveeno products), but those are meant primarily for people who are planning on staying in the sun for prolonged periods of time. This body cream is also not meant to be your only source of SPF, so lets just make that clear!
Overall, I have been enjoying these products! The Body wash was nice, but I’m not sure if I will purchase it immediately after I finish this bottle, simply as I have so many other body washes that I love! I also tend to gravitate towards body wash that has a sweet scent. Overall these products have been favourites in my family for a few years and I’m glad Aveeno reached out to me, so I could share my thoughts on these products! So huge THANK YOU to Aveeno!
So now I want to share some skincare secrets of my own with you: (even though they are quite basic and common sense!)
– Cake on the moisturizer- I’ve got super dry skin, so I find putting on moisturizer especially before bed really helps my skin, as it gives you skin hours to soak up all the moisture.
– Exfoliate a few times a week (depending on your skin) – Exfoliating is very important to me, as my skin tends to get very dry and this helps to remove the dead skin cells and makes your skin look healthy and gives it a glow!
– Drink Water – It’s an obvious one and one that I don’t do enough, but drinking water is so good for you, it flushes out toxins etc!
