Quarantine is a difficult time, but your skin is pretty much relieved. No layers of daily make-up, no extra dose of party shadows and contours, so we might as well say that this period is a boon for your skin.
Your skincare routine is imperative at this time. It’s time to unwind, detox, and let your skin breathe.
A daily skincare routine has few basic steps you can do once in the morning and once before you sleep.
WASHING YOUR FACE – BASICS OF QUARANTINE SKINCARE
Washing your face is the most basic and essential step of any routine,
CLEANSER
A cleanser with the right formula will cleanse your skin without stripping it of the essential oils.
I use the Garnier Micellar water to first take off my makeup and than follow up with a hydrating cleanser from Neutrogena which is from my favourite line the Hydro Boost.

For different skin type, different cleanser type is recommended:
Oil or acne-prone skin: A foaming liquid cleanser is recommended. When activated with water or pumped into your palm, this cleanser morphs into airy foam that breaks down the dirt from the pores.
Dry, red, or eczema-prone: A cream or lotion cleanser is suitable for this skin type. These cleansers are formulated by emollients such as glycerine or Shea butter. It wipes away impurities and hydrates the skin.
Sensitive skin: A oil type cleanser, just think the oil absorbs oil. Non-comedogenic, lightweight and moisturizing.
Any skin type: Micellar water is a staple in the French skincare routine It is a soap-free option that can attract debris and oil out of the skin without any dryness. Until most cleansers, you do not need to rub it in or rinse it off, a simple swipe is enough.
TONER
Toner can be a good way to add specific ingredients in our other products or just think of it as an extra layer of skin replenishment. Applying toner with clean hands is the most efficient

MOISTURIZER
Essentially, moisturizers prevent water loss from the outer layers of skin. In turn, it helps with hydration and softens the skin. Everyone needs a moisturizer all year round, the texture differs according to your skin type.
What I use the Neutrogena Hydro Boost gel moisturizer and eye cream.

Oily skin: Gel moisturizer, is a water-based option that is lightweight and easily absorbent.
Normal or combination skin type: Lotion moisturizer, is more nourishing but absorbs pretty easily.
Dry skin: Cream or soft cream, it’s heavier and oil-based.
Inflamed or sensitive skin type: Blam moisturizer, it has a heavier texted but it is extremely good for this skin type.
SUNSCREEN
Daily and consistent sunscreen use help to prevent the development of fine lines and wrinkles, textural imperfections, and changes in the appearance of pores over time. More importantly, daily sunscreen use can help to prevent the formation of certain skin cancers.
No matter what your skin type is, a daily skincare routine during this quarantine can help you maintain overall skin health. Also, don’t forget to hydrate yourself.
